About Prof. Dr. med. Diehl

The associate professor Prof. Dr. med. Diehl is a well known orthopedist, trauma surgeon, and sports orthopedist. Prof. Dr. med. Diehl is specialised in minimally-invasive surgery and arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee joint. His diagnoses and treatments are supported by cutting-edge equipment such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and digital X-ray technology as well as the interdisciplinary expertise provided by the other specialists (e.g. in neurosurgery) at the Orthopedic Centre Munich East (OZMO).

Prof. Dr. med. Diehl is an established specialist and will attend to you throughout the entire course of treatment! He accompanies his patients from the 1st consultation, the diagnosis, all operations and including follow up care. He is an experienced surgeon, who has already performed over 5,000 operations since 2000.

Holding positions at various international hospitals, he specialised in shoulder and knee joint surgery at the Rechts der Isar University Hospital (TU München) and head consultant at the University Hospital of Rostock. Further he is an outstanding surgeon for hip joint arthroscopy (minimally invasive procedure for examining the hip) and an internationally recognized expert in the field of regenerative medicine such as cartilage and stem cell therapy (discussed in over 50 publications in various international medical magazines and in more than 100 lectures presented at international medical conferences world wide).

Apart from his work at the OZ-MO Munich, as Associate Professor Prof. Dr. med. Diehl takes part in the educational program for medical students at the Clinic for Orthopedics at the University of Rostock. Furthermore he still very involved in research programs, thus guaranteeing medical treatment that is up to date and at university standards.

Prof. Dr. med. Diehl is also experienced in a wide range of therapeutic procedures which make open surgery unnecessary:
