non-invasive procedure based on the application of high-frequency focused sound waves. The sound waves are fundamentally without influence on soft tissue, but they produce variably adjustable sound waves on special tissue structures such as deposits and solids, which achieve focused loosening and structural changes in the desired manner. Since the 1970s, it has been used to break up kidney stones (potassium or uric acid salts).
