In a condition called achillodynia, the Achilles tendon is also heated and swollen. The earlier you start treatment, the higher the chances of success that the achillodynia will completely regress.<\/p>\n<p>Therapy is usually conservative, i.e. without surgery. In this case, the tendon is not inflamed, but is no longer capable of bearing as much weight. This happens when the Achilles tendon is permanently overloaded without being able to regenerate sufficiently. Micro-injuries to the tendon that have not healed can also lead to tendinopathy.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of tendinopathy of the Achilles tendon, the recommended therapy is the application of stimuli. So sport in moderation is allowed if you listen to pain signs. The training plan for strengthening the Achilles tendon by Prof. Knobloch is also recommended.
