The orthosis immediately gives the patient a stability that the initially weakened back muscles (after surgical procedures) cannot provide. The gait pattern and posture are improved.After due time, when stability is restored through physiotherapy and the formation of replacement tissue in the operated segment, the orthosis can be gradually “disarmed” and the patient given back more freedom of movement.
